The state will prepare the framework in consultation with the Telangana High Court and the Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TGSLSA). Reddy made the announcement while addressing the inaugural session of the National Legal Services Authority’s South Zone Regional Conference in Hyderabad. Parents to be involved in child safety framework The conference focused on the theme “Justice for Children in Cyberspace.” Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Supreme Court judges Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Alok Aradhe, Justice R Mahadevan and Justice P S Narasimha, and Telangana High Court judge Justice P Sam Koshy attended the event. Reddy called for parents to take part in framing the Child Online Safety Framework. He also urged families to stay alert to online risks faced by children. “Every child and parent should know two numbers: 1930 for cybercrime and 1098 for child help,” he said. The Chief Minister asked parents to speak openly with their children and remain aware of their online activities. “Be curious, not judgemental,” he said. “Protecting children and women remains the highest priority of our government,” Reddy said. Telangana has several institutions working with the police to protect children. These include Bharosa centres, Child Protection Units, Child Welfare Committees, Special Courts and Legal Services Authorities. CM launches bonded labour legal aid scheme Reddy said Bharosa centres offer police support, medical assistance, legal aid and counselling to women and children under one roof. Hyderabad also has India’s first Child Friendly Court, he said. The police department’s Women Safety Wing runs SHE-Bharosa Cyber Labs to help protect children online. Reddy also highlighted the CybHER app, which helps students and teachers learn about online safety. The state also trains students as cyber ambassadors to help their classmates stay safe online. TGSLSA has signed a memorandum of understanding with the School Education department. Through this initiative, teachers educate children about their legal rights. More than 3,000 Child Protection Officers have also received training, Reddy said. The Chief Minister launched the TGSLSA Freedom from Bonded Labour – Legal Aid, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Re-integration Scheme, 2026 . The scheme provides a mechanism to report bonded labour cases and aims to create greater awareness about labour rights. Reddy reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening Legal Services Authorities and expanding their reach to every district and village. Justice must restore dignity, says CM “Justice is not only about conviction. It is about restoration. It is about dignity. It is about giving back children their childhood,” Reddy said. Referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s fight for the weak and poor through the law, the Chief Minister highlighted the role of Legal Services Authorities in ensuring access to justice. Reddy said the internet and artificial intelligence have brought several positive changes to society. However, he warned that children can also face risks from misinformation and online crimes. “Children can make mistakes and its consequences can be bad for themselves, for their families, and for the society. Internet did not create these crimes, but it has made it easier to organise them on a global scale,” he said. The Chief Minister said the key challenge was to prevent cybercrimes against children, keep them safe online and ensure that they receive justice. Reddy welcomed the decision to host the conference in Hyderabad and expressed confidence that its recommendations would guide Telangana and other states across the country. ]]>
