Centre releases Rs 4,055 crore for Poshan 2.0 in J&K
Srinagar, July 31: Jammu and Kashmir has received Rs 4,055.87 crore under the Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 scheme between 2014-15 and 2024-25, according to official data tabled by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development in the Lok Sabha on Friday. The official year-wise figures show that the Union Territory received Rs 260.31 crore in 2014-15, Rs 273.63 crore in 2015-16, Rs 267.32 crore in 2016-17, Rs 193.28 crore in 2017-18 and Rs 374.07 crore in 2018-19. The Centre released Rs 320.00 crore in 2019-20, Rs 289.02 crore in 2020-21, Rs 405.74 crore in 2021-22, Rs 478.82 crore in 2022-23, Rs 530.88 crore in 2023-24 and Rs 662.79 crore in 2024-25, marking the highest annual allocation during the period. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development said that year-wise and state-wise details of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) and projects under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, including those in Jammu and Kashmir, are available on the Poshan Tracker public dashboard. The minister said Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, with implementation carried out by the respective State Governments and Union Territory administrations. "The matter regarding infrastructure is regularly taken up with the States and UT administrations through sustained engagements and video conferences so as to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services to the beneficiaries," the minister said.
