Public of India is a private citizen newsroom platform. It is not affiliated with any government body, ministry, or official institution. Publishing is at editorial discretion and subject to policy compliance.

2. What We Allow

• Factual, first-person civic reporting with verifiable evidence
• Community awareness, safety alerts, and public interest stories
• National and state-level news reporting with sourced information
• Anonymous tips (with internal identity verification)
• Hindi and English language content

3. What We Reject (Zero Tolerance)

• Hate speech: Content targeting religion, caste, gender, region, or ethnicity
• Doxxing: Publishing phone numbers, home addresses, Aadhaar/PAN/ID numbers of any individual
• Harassment: Targeting or threatening any individual or group
• Fake evidence: Manipulated or fabricated photos, videos, or screenshots
• Defamation: Unverified allegations presented as fact
• Political propaganda: Content designed to mislead rather than inform
• Illegal content: Any content prohibited under Indian law

4. Identity Verification

We require Aadhaar-based identity verification for all submissions. This is strictly for internal verification purposes only. Your Aadhaar details are encrypted and never published or shared with third parties.

5. Media Guidelines

• Blur faces of minors, victims, and bystanders
• Remove visible phone numbers, IDs, and personal addresses from images/videos
• Do not upload private or leaked documents
• Videos must be your own original recordings

6. Privacy Policy

We collect personal information solely for editorial verification. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or third parties. We may retain submission records as required by Indian law. Cookie data is used for session management only.

7. Publishing & Editing Rights

By submitting content, you grant Public of India a non-exclusive license to publish, edit, and translate your content. Publishing is entirely discretionary. We may edit content for clarity, privacy compliance, and accuracy without altering the essential meaning.

8. Limitation of Liability

Public of India is not liable for the accuracy of citizen-submitted content. We strive to verify before publishing but cannot guarantee complete accuracy. Readers should apply critical judgment to all content.
