A viral video claiming that China had taken control of parts of Arunachal Pradesh has triggered a political controversy after the Indian Army identified the clip as digitally manipulated. The video falsely attributed remarks to senior Army officer Girish Kalia, claiming that China had taken control of Asaphila, Longju and Taksing Circle, while also alleging that Indian troops were being denied essential supplies. The Army’s fact-checking unit said the clip used AI-enabled lip-syncing and voice cloning to attach fabricated statements to authentic archival footage. The original video was from a press briefing in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, on October 27, 2023, when Kalia was speaking about infiltration attempts across the Line of Control—not Chinese control of Arunachal Pradesh.n18oc_The-Right-StandNews18 Mobile App - https://onelink.to/desc-youtubeCNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
