Anand on Thursday flagged off a 2-km ‘Cyber Security Flash – Pause for Safety’ light march at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road. The march marked the beginning of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau ( TGCSB ) organised the awareness walk. Actor Adivi Sesh, TGCSB director Shikha Goel, and the Commissioners of Police of Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City attended the event. Senior police officials also took part. TGCSB urges citizens to pause, think and verify Goel , who also serves as Principal Secretary to the Telangana government’s Home Department, said the bureau organised the night walk as part of its cyber awareness campaign. “Today, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau organised a unique awareness walk — a 2-kilometre night walk dedicated to cyber awareness. Our message to everyone is simple: ‘Pause, Think, and Verify.’ Pause, reflect, and only then take action,” she said. Goel said cyber offences in Telangana were declining. She said incidents had fallen by 11%, while financial losses had dropped by 20%. Awareness activities planned across Telangana through October “We want to sustain this trend. Various activities will be held across every district throughout the month. The campaign will culminate in ‘flash marches’ in all districts on October 30 or 31,” she said. The campaign urges citizens to pause before responding to calls, messages, links or other digital communications. It also encourages people to verify information before taking action. ]]>
